Saturday STEAM Sessions are a series of one-day workshops are hosted at The Nature Place (www.berksnature.org). Through this unique partnership, you will allow your child to cultivate their love of science and experience nature in a whole new way.
February 23 10am-11:30pm, ages 4-6 – Junior Scientists: Animal Lifecycles
Little people are growing and changing every day! They love to learn about other animals, like butterflies and frogs, who also have to go through some big changes. Students will enjoy listening to a story about their animal friends, and then they will work in guided teams with K’NEX® building toys to create and explore the science of lifecycles.
March 16, 10am-12pm Ages 7-14 – LEGO® Robotics: Ocean Rescue
The human population is impacting our oceans like never before. Young people will inherit a planet where they will have to strive for innovations to heal and protect the natural world. In this class, students will use LEGO® Robotics kits to BUILD and CODE robotic models of sea life and the incredible machines that are working to clean up our oceans. They will also work together to create an ocean habitat and brainstorm their own solutions to the ecological challenges facing our oceans.
