Pottsgrove Manor by Candlelight

Experience an 18th-century holiday come alive with music and laughter at Pottsgrove Manor. Explore the candlelit museum as living history interpreters celebrate the traditions of Twelfth Night. Delight at entertaining in the Front Parlor and spy to see if any couple is caught standing under the kissing ball. Discover the progression of Georgian dishes and elegant desserts laid out in the dining parlor throughout the day, all made by the hearth cooks in the reproduction kitchen. Continue your tour upstairs to see how to dress in the latest colonial styles in the master bedchamber. Find out how the festivities were seen through children’s eyes and their different experiences in the children’s bedchamber. Uncover the extensive behind-the-scenes work done by the household staff as they prepare decorations of greenery for the house. Discover forgotten holiday traditions such as days spent hunting and the celebration of Boxing Day. Kids of all ages can bring home a memory of the evening with make and take crafts. Colonial refreshments will be served after your tour. The museum shop will be open with special reproduction items, books, and ornaments. The magic of Pottsgrove Manor by Candlelight is the perfect way for the entire family to celebrate the history of the season.

Visitors should follow the signs for parking at the Pottstown Memorial Park, located at 75 West King Street. There they can board a shuttle that will take them to Pottsgrove Manor. The program welcomes all ages, and there is a suggested $2 donation per person. All are encouraged to dress for the weather as part of the tour does include being outdoors. Pottsgrove Manor by Candlelight will be held weather permitting.

Pottsgrove Manor is located at 100 West King Street near the intersection of King Street and Route 100, just off of Route 422 near the Carousel at Pottsgrove and Manatawny Green Miniature Golf Course, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Pottsgrove Manor is operated by the Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites.
