How Does NASA Use Lasers In Space?

Using an onboard laser altimeter system, the NASA Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite-2 will map the height of our planet. Learn all about the science and engineering of ICESat-2 satellite through discussion, visualizations, and animations. Pho the Photon will be making his debut appearance in the new ICESat-2 short animation, “Photon Jump.” Mr. Brian A. Campbell is a NASA Senior Earth Science Specialist with the NASA Hydrosphere, Biosphere, and Geophysics Laboratory and the Laboratory for Atmospheres, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia. Campbell is a Berks County native (West Lawn) and Wilson High School graduate.

This is an Explore Earth: Our Changing Planet exhibit event. The exhibit will be on display at Muhlenberg Community Library January 13, 2018 until March 9, 2018. Free admission.
