Sunday, September 15 @ 12:00 pm

Free

Before it was a County Park the Berks County Heritage Center was a working farm for over 200 years! Come celebrate farm life and farm culture with this fun family event where we look behind the scenes and visit some of the rarely opened parts of the property that tell that story of life on a Berks County farm.

Jim Ohlinger, former resident, will be giving tours of the property and sharing stories from his time here. Visit the herb garden and Melcher’s Grist Mill to learn about how farms grew and processed their food. See our full collection of Gruber Wagons in the pole barn. Churn butter, ‘milk’ a cow, learn to make bread on an open hearth and do laundry the old-fashioned way. Take a wagon ride.

Music by Mike & Linda Hertzog and Miss Laurie Ann & the Saddletones.
Food from Deep Roots Valley Farm and Kitchen.
Farm Tours with Jim Ohlinger – 12:15 & 2pm
Native Pollinator Talk with Greg Geesaman – 1 pm
