Backpacking Basics

Learn why preparation is key to any successful hike and how to properly plan for your adventure, including equipment needed, food and safety gear.  We will have some different styles of backpacks to show and demonstrate, as well as essentials for any trip.  Create a backpacking checklist, and learn how to properly pack your backpack.  Then we’ll use our skills on a moderate hike around the trails of Antietam Lake Park.  Wear good hiking shoes, and bring along water for this rain or shine workshop.
