Firefly Bookstore, on Main Street in downtown Kutztown, is celebrating their Grand Opening! During the week of September 1, there will be special sales and daily drawings for themed gift "baskets" featuring books, calendars and gift cards. Customers that wish to participate can enter for any or all of the daily giveaways.
On Saturday, September 8 (11am-3pm) meet author Mara Rockliff! She will be signing copies of her latest book, Me and Momma and Big John. Stop by for a "cathedral cookie," join awesome party planner Julie Setliff in a kids craft, or just say hi and check out Firefly's fabulous array of books, calendars, games, and gifts.
About Mara Rockliff
Mara Rockliff is a well-travelled author of award-winning books and a public speaker, but unfortunately is unable to turn a cartwheel.
Read more about Me and Momma and Big John - including its great reviews - here, and more about her other books. They will all be available at Firefly, including: My Heart Will Not Sit Down, The Busiest Street in Town (an IndieNext pick), the Milo & Jazz Mysteries (an ALA Best New Books for the Classroom pick), and Get Real: What Kind of World Are You Buying? (a Green Earth Book Awards honor book).
About Firefly Bookstore
Started by two experienced and enthusiastic book aficionados in downtown Kutztown, Firefly Bookstore strives to offer a quality book shopping experience for readers of all ages. Opened in August of 2012, Firefly Bookstore offerings include used and new books, gifts, games, and a large yearly selection of discounted calendars. Firefly Bookstore has strong offerings in children's books, fiction, cooking and history, along with books on virtually every subject. They are online at www.fireflybookstore.com and facebook.com/fireflybookstore.
Owners and partners Rebecca Laincz and Matthew Williams have been developing the plan that would eventually be born as Firefly Bookstore for many years, while they honed their skills managing a variety of other retail bookstores. Helping other companies as they navigate through the many changes in the book industry over the last 10 years has demonstrated to Ms. Laincz and Mr. Williams that the successful book store should have strong ties to the community, a diverse and evolving selection of products, and a bright well-organized space to shop and browse. Firefly Bookstore strives to be all this and more as they launch their new retail store.
Rebecca is also an artist who sells upcycled book products ("jewelry, bookmarks, blank cards, magnets, framed art and anything else I can come up with") on Etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/Libromancer.
